Certified Healthcare Instructor (CHI)

CHI instructor and studentNHA is sponsoring a certification program for experienced healthcare educators to become a Certified Healthcare Instructor, CHI credential. This program is designed to meet the ever increasing needs of schools who are looking to hire qualified Healthcare Instructors. This unique program has two distinct paths of study to lead qualified applicants toward the certified healthcare instructor credential. "Fast Track" or "Full Track" programs are available depending on applicant's experience.

The Two Tracks of Study Depend on the Candidate's Experience:
NHA Certified Healthcare InstructorThe “Fast Track” is for professionals who already have teaching experience and technical credentials in the discipline they are planning to teach. The “Full Track” program is designed for clinicians who are interested in teaching others but have no formal classroom teaching experience. And so, whether the applicant is a “Fast Track” or a “Full Track” candidate for the CHI program, the moment they join this program they are on the right “track”!

NHA blue bulletFAST TRACK (For Experienced Instructors)
Requirements:
a. You have been an Instructor for at least one year.–OR–
b. You have a state sponsored teaching credentials/vocational Instructor license. (State requirements vary) –AND–
c. You are 21 or older with a high school diploma or GED –AND–
d. You have certification in the discipline you are planning to teach. (For example, if you are teaching a Phlebotomy program, you must have valid Phlebotomy certification from an approved certification agency. However, this is waived if you are an RN, MT or MD.)

 
NHA blue bulletFULL TRACK (No teaching experience)

Requirements:
a. You are 21 years old or older with a high school diploma or GED –AND–
b. You have certification in the discipline you're planning to teach. (For example, if you are planning to teach a Phlebotomy program, you must have valid Phlebotomy certification from an approved certification agency. However, this is waived if you are an RN, MT or MD.)
c. You would like to learn the basics of classroom teaching for adult learners
d. You love to learn new things and you just KNOW you'd be a great teacher!
